Deep Muscle Therapy / Sports Massage

Deep Muscle Therapy focuses on the problem areas for an individual helping to break up adhesions and facilitate healing.

Key Benefits

  • Decreased Pain
  • Increased Flexibility and Range of Motion

Sports Massage encompasses Deep Muscle Therapy with stretching in addition to pre-event and post-event techniques to increase the performance of an athlete. Massages can be given before or after a workout depending on the needs of the athlete. Treatments are geared toward the areas of highest stress during the workout. Each sport varies as does each athlete's stress points.

Pre-event massage invigorates the muscles prior to the event. Stretching is used to help prevent injuries by warming up the muscles.

Post-event massage focuses on the well-being of the athlete. Treatment (along with plenty of fluids) can help to eliminate muscle spasms. Compressions and light pressure are used to drain fluids from the muscles that have been worked.

Key Benefits

  • Faster recovery from micro damage and trauma from workouts
  • Relieve fatigue and rejuvenate
  • Reduce the strain of repetitive motions
  • Reduce the healing time of injuries

Key Strokes: The following strokes are used in addition to the standard Swedish Massage Strokes:

Broad strokes are deep repetitive strokes to increase blood to an area while compressing the muscle fibers.

Fascia lines are deep strokes that follow the muscle fibers to break up adhesions in the muscle tissue.
